Why solitude has been my best friend post-breakup

I have found nothing more beneficial than keeping to oneself.
Whenever you interact with people, you will find one who rejoices at your hardship, another who envies your blessings, and another who waits for you to make a mistake.

after my breakup i disappeared into my own little world for a while, and honestly it was the first time i could hear my own thoughts again. being alone felt safer than forcing myself into the wrong company.

i get why you'd feel this way. i stopped chasing people who made me feel like i had to watch every word, and that gave me so much peace. i'd rather have a quiet day by myself than feel lonely in a crowded room.

do you feel like solitude has been healing for you, or did it start as a way to protect yourself after getting hurt?
