Why is no contact so hard after a breakup?

Author

It's really difficult for me to maintain no contact when he "returns" to my contact. I always find new excuses to talk to him. On the other hand, it might be not so bad if I'm just testing and talking to him as friends, because it might help change the story into a low intensity, friendly vibe. I'm not sure...

i actually wanted a friendship or if i just wanted to stay connected because letting go hurt so much. once i answered that honestly, the excuses got a little quieter.

when you picture being "just friends," does that actually make you feel calm, or are you hoping it'll slowly turn into something more

. every time my ex popped back up i told myself maybe this time we could just be friends, but i was really hoping for something that wasn't friendship. it kept reopening the same wound for me

no, if he wanted he would so stop it already.

It really is confusing! I feel like if my guy and I had broken up on bad terms, it would’ve been easier to move on, instead of us staying in this weird friends-with-a-history stage.

it's been over a year that I understood he doesn't love me the way I hoped. So now I hope that my feelings change, that I loose romantic interest and that I stop feeling hurt by what happened.
