Yesterday, it finally happened. He contacted me with more of the same. 2 messages calling me names and no accountability. I remained silent. Didn't take the bait and moved on with my day.

i've been there, and that silence takes SO much strength. i used to feel like i had to defend myself when my ex came back angry, then i realized every reply just pulled me back into the same mess.
its been stirred since but I refuse to give it energy.
He just wanted to get a rise out of you and see if he still had control. I hope I can get there at some point. Someone who cares for you and your well-being wont break yoi down that way.
i'm proud of you for not taking the bait. honestly, keeping my distance was the only thing that gave me my peace back, because arguing with someone who won't take accountability just kept me stuck.
when you stayed silent and went on with your day, did you feel relieved afterward, or did it still stir everything up inside?
