Why was our last hangout so perfect before the breakup?

Author

our last hangout was so perfect. we went to a guitar store and played guitar, we went out to eat, we laid in bed together watching movies, and we went on a late night drive listening to music. I was moving away to college the next day, so when it was time to say goodbye, I was heartbroken. there was a lot of tears and kisses and hugs, and it was so hard to leave. after a week in college, we broke up because I was tired of begging for his attention and he was tired of not being able to do enough. why was this last hangout so perfect and amazing, when we were going to break up almost two weeks later? i miss him so much. i miss those last few kisses and that last hug. i wish I could go back in time and relive that day over and over again to escape the reality i am in now. I hate my life without him and I realize what I did wrong and I just want my sweet boy back immediately.

i used to think one perfect day meant we were supposed to be together, but sometimes people can love each other and still be exhausted by what the relationship had become.

wishing i could rewind to the last ordinary moments with my ex and just stay there forever. do you think you miss him most right now, or the version of your life where you still believed you had more time together?

my last day with my ex was weirdly beautiful too, and i kept replaying it because it felt impossible that something so good could be the end. those last hugs and kisses hurt like hell to remember.

I think that’s what makes it hurt so much—the fact that your last day together was genuinely so beautiful and full of love. Sometimes a relationship can have perfect moments while there are still problems underneath that eventually make it hard to continue. That day was real, and the love you felt was real too.

I think you’re holding onto those last kisses and that last hug because you didn’t know at the time that things would change so soon after. But try to remember that missing the beautiful moments doesn’t erase the reasons you were hurting and begging for his attention. Right now, your heart is grieving and replaying the happiest memories. Be gentle with yourself—you don’t have to stop loving that memory, but you also don’t have to live in it forever. ❤️
