Why letting go of someone you prayed for hurts so much

God is testing me. Ive been hurt the way twice. different year. I prayed for a specifific person and I finally meet them. I did it all right. layed down all my cards on the table showing this is everything that I am. He was always supportive, caring and accepted me in every possible way. I gave him the same space and time to develop something deeper. But he then decided in the end he wasnt actually ready. But throughout our time, he was everything I was looking for in a person. Except, there was no deeper connection between us.

this hurt to read because i’ve had someone check every box i thought i needed, only to realize the deeper connection just wasn’t there.

i’d be wondering the same thing in your shoes. do you think you’re grieving him specifically, or the future you believed God had finally given you?

praying so hard for someone and then feeling like the answer was taken away from me. the hardest part was knowing they were genuinely good to me, so i couldn’t even be angry at him.

Timing and readiness is important, but it still hurts.

I understand the pain of being hurt. it sucks. and sometimes I still feel it. and I’m now at the point where I can remember the positives and not just the negatives. this is progress.
