How do you move on after a breakup you didn't want?

Author

how do u just go on with your day knowing your ex is just existing and seeing friends without you in their life.

we parted ways when we both still love each other and care so much about each other and im sure he still loves me and i still love him.

it was a mutual break-up we both didn't want to resent in other thats why we decided to break up after 8 years.

i just miss him so much i just want to talk to him about my day and hear about his.

i just want someone to hug that i care about every night.

i just want to be with him.

we decided to end things so we can focus on ourselves a lot of people are saying that its the mature thing to do. i dont know. im just so sad about it.

i keep coming back to the fact that you both still love each other. do you think the hardest part is losing him, or knowing you chose to let each other go even though the love was still there?

i think its losing him especially with my anxious attachment. my heart is whats clinging on but my mind knows that we need this space so we can be better individuals. :(

i feel like this is the end for us but also i do have a slight hope that we'll meet again but i dont know :(

i struggled with this too, especially when the breakup was mutual and there was still love there.

after years together, i remember how strange it felt knowing my ex was out there living a normal day while i was sitting there wishing i could tell him every tiny thing. the silence after that kind of love is brutal.

Hey, I'm sorry you're going through this. It's nice to hear that someone on this app hasn't been cheated on or left without an explanation. That's why I think you shouldn't think about what he's doing, but focus on yourself. That's why you broke up, right? That's why you owe it to yourself to fulfill your desires now and remember that it's okay to be sad, try to do something nice for yourself every day. Take a walk on your favorite path, eat an ice cream or simply read something that will relax you. When other things start to occupy you, you'll think less about him and his life. Find your happiness and you'll see that every breakup is an opportunity for personal growth. Baby steps and you'll succeed!
