He left 5 nights ago, and 3 days ago, we saw each other face to face and talked. Since that day, I've messaged twice (2 nights ago and this morning). I was starting to worry that it was too much for him, and he'd leave for good or move on with someone else. We haven't spoken of an official breakup, instead we have agreed that we need time apart to reset and work on ourselves. He doesn't reply to the messages, but when my manager reached out to him, to ask him something and see if he was okay, he asked her how I was. To me, I think that shows he still cares, but is not ready to fully talk to me (hence no reply)
What else could it mean?
Do I still stick to not messaging or calling him anymore, or does he want to know that I care too?

is the hardest part for you that you miss him, or that you’re scared he’ll move on while you’re giving him the space he asked for?
I think it's a mix of both sometimes. I miss him in small moments or things we did together and when I'm overthinking, it is that he has moved on.
i’d take his silence seriously for now, even if he does care.
Thank you, I am. I'm struggling through it, but I love and care about him so much, so I really am.
i’ve been in that awful space where you’re reading into every tiny sign because silence feels unbearable. my ex once asked a mutual friend how i was doing while ignoring my messages, and gah, i held onto that little detail for DAYS because i wanted it to mean we were still connected.
I'm trying to think positive but also not read into it too much. I guess I'm just glad that even a tiny bit of him shows he cares, while he's hurting, getting space and trying to heal.
he thinks you left him. abondoned him. i would strongly suggest having lunch and sitting next to each and talk. #justsaying
I've been cryong every day and night since he left. I'm waiting for him to reach out, because he wanted time and space. I agree we need to talk, but I don't think he's ready. He isn't replying to messages or answering calls (last call was the first day after he left).
