I'm currently almost on the way of one year break up anniversary with my ex. I've pledged that I won't look for anyone else until the completion of one year. And I do think that I have almost moved on from my ex.
So, now I have completed my degree and am currently pursuing my MA. I'm in a different place apart from everyone I know. Here I met a guy. I was introduced to him via a friend of us. Now, we don't even talk to her but we are always together. I don't know if this is love or time pass. I don't want a relationship with him and at the same time, I do feel like wanting to be with him. He cares for me, he is always with me, he protects me, he asks for me. One time, he had even dropped me to my place even though his place is somewhere else. He calls me regularly. We always hold each other's hands. He even hugs me once a day. He even got comfortable to touch my tummy playfully which I don't care him doing. And there are so many such cute instances. He even doesn't smoke infront of me and he never uses cuss words infront of me. He admits that a man changes when a woman comes, indicating me.
All these happens on a daily basis. But he still sometimes mentions us as friends. He even questioned me once whether we'll get into a relationship!!. He said that if he likes someone, he'll tell them that directly. That means he's saying he doesn't like me, right? I can't understand anything. He even compliments other women infront of me. Is he trying to make me jealous or what? Once I did the same to him, that is, i complimented a guy and he responded that I never complimented him! is it jealousy?? I can't decode him.
I can't tell all these to him since he's the only friend I have at my college. If he goes, I'll be stranded.
HELPPP MEEEEE...

hey baby
I respect that you want to heal and setting a timeframe on when to enter another relationship may help with that but if you feel ready for another relationship, 10 months isn’t a bad amount of time. You can heal while seeing other people, they needn’t be mutually exclusive.
i felt every bit of this confusion in my bones. i was in a situationship in grad school where a guy acted like my full-on boyfriend holding hands and walking me home every day, but still threw around the word friends, and that hot-and-cold energy almost drove me crazy. it is so exhausting when someone's actions make you feel loved, but their words leave you guessing and terrified of losing your only support system.
what did you do then? what am I supposed to do? 😭
when someone tells you they speak directly when they like someone, but then act like a whole partner with you, the best thing you can do is take a step back and let them come to you
you think you'd feel more relieved or more scared if you two actually talked and put a clear label on what this is?
