Surviving the no contact: my 120-day journey

hey you guys. I just wanted to hop on here and say for the people who are in the early days of no contact that there is healing on the other side of a breakup. my ex broke my heart into tiny pieces but I’m surviving. I’m doing things I would never have done while in that relationship. and I’m learning to be happy again. it’s hard, but you can make it through this. do it scared. do it heartbroken. do it for yourself. do it for your future. there’s so much more to life than one relationship. you deserve someone who loves you completely and I beg you not to settle for anything less. sending you all so much love and this random person on the internet is rooting for you :)

in those early no contact days where getting through one day felt like a whole damn achievement. then slowly i started doing things for myself again, and one day i realized i was laughing without thinking about my ex.

this hit me because i used to think healing meant waiting until i stopped hurting.

when you look back at your own healing, what was the first little thing that made you realize you were actually becoming happy again?

it’s silly but my dog was in daycare, and I told her we’re going home. I used to only call wherever my ex was “home,” but I said it about the place I lived. Did I cry after? yes, but I was moving forward. and I was proud of myself
