its been 8 months since the breakup and our photos are still in my gallery. when is the time to delete them. should i delete them? it feels weird having them for when i get into a new relationship (far from now) but deleting them all feels like im removing a part from myself.
i dont know what to do

i held onto my ex's photos for almost a year and every time i scrolled past them my stomach dropped. keeping them felt like holding onto proof that we actually happened, so deleting them felt like erasing my own memories.
i put all our photos on a thumb drive, shoved it in a box at the back of my closet, and deleted them off my phone. having them off my daily screen gave me breathing room, but knowing they weren't gone forever stopped me from panicking.
are you looking at them often when you scroll through your phone, or are they just sitting there in the background
no just sitting there
archive them for now, and when you feel ready delete them but there's no rush
maybe some memories are only meant to be remembered and not saved and stuck in a gallery.
we just broke up yesterday. i put all of the photos of him and us in my hidden because i cant bare to see them but i cant commit to deleting them forever yet
