Why did my ex reach out after 2 months?

My ex and I broke up two months ago and were completely no contact. Last night I was drunk, accidentally followed her on TikTok, and immediately unfollowed. But she saw it and sent me a bunch of messages at 3am:
"Do you miss me?"
"I'm really sorry for acting like that back then."
"But sometimes..."
"...every time, I still miss you, chubby."
"Kevin"
"No one is as warm as you."
"If you find new love, I hope it's better than me."
"I always miss you."
I replied later: "To be honest, I miss you too. But you chose to be with someone else. I wish you happiness with him."
She said: "I sincerely apologize. But right now I don't want anyone, that's enough. Just working and making money."
So I just closed the conversation with: "Just wanting you to be happy is enough for me. Focus on your work, I hope you succeed."
And she just replied: "Thank you.

It hits hard hearing that nobody was as warm as me, but seeing how fast she pulled back to "I just want to focus on work" made me realize she didn't actually want to fix things. At least I walked away with my head held high.

i had an ex who reached out late at night to tell me no one ever loved him like i did, only to pull back the second morning came and pull the "just focusing on myself" line.

my ex tried to dangle those late night apologies was blocking his tiktok and phone completely, because keeping the door cracked even an inch just invites another 3am text that sets your healing back to square one.

seeing her pull back so quickly give you complete closure, or are those middle of the night texts still messing with your head today?

That's an honest conversation, maybe she's not in a place to fix things and I understand you could miss someone but also not have the capacity to build the relationship. It's great that you didn't beg or ask for anything to detailed so yes you did well ☺️
