My wife and I were working on reconciling our marriage. I put in maximum effort to make things work but her unresolved issues started piling up and heavily affecting my mental health. Eventually I was pushed to my breaking point and reacted emotionally (non-physically and non-cheating) which led to her cutting off most contact.
When I repeatedly asked if she wanted to work on us or get a divorce she said she didn't know. Tonight I hit rock bottom and blew up her phone in total desperation. I told her I loved her but also warned her that I was scared to be alone with my thoughts and might do something irreversible. She dismissed me said it was late and went to sleep mad.
Thankfully a lifelong friend happened to drive past my house saw the lights on and saved my life tonight. She didn't seem to care but I'm just grateful I made it through the night.

i've been in a place where i was begging someone i loved to care that i was falling apart, and that kind of loneliness cuts DEEP. i'm so glad your lifelong friend showed up for you that night.
i know how easy it is to make your partner's response the measure of your own worth when you're hurting this badly.
i'm so glad you made it through that night, and i wanted to ask, are you somewhere safe right now, with someone you trust who knows how bad things got?
im proud of you brother for not giving up.
