i had an ex kiss my forehead, tell me he loved me, then end it the SAME day and i swear my brain kept replaying those last few hours trying to make them make sense.
it’s not making sense in my mind, I have his hoodie in my room sitting on my bed because he gave it to me on Monday

Really depends on how he felt in relationship, but it looks like that it's not you but their own mind. I would suggest do no contact and if they really care about you they will reach out or try to fix things, meanwhile you need to work on yourself.
