Why no contact feels like a win

I have committed to a year of no contact. In 12 days it will be a sixth of a year. It might not be much but it is something. Looking ahead it feels good to know I have made that commitment. I am angry today, but I am glad to not be putting my energy into people who people who have not been showing up for me in the ways I need. Instead I am strengthening my resolve to commit to myself.

when you say you're angry today, is it anger at them for how they showed up, or anger at yourself for how much of your energy you gave away?

both, but today more mad at the people who didn't show up for me.

when i was angry, i kept wanting to pour that energy back into people who had already shown me where i stood. choosing myself instead felt awkward at first, but it slowly gave me my peace back.

i'm proud reading this, honestly. i committed to no contact after a breakup too, and some days the only win was making it through another day without reaching out. those small milestones ended up meaning more than i expected. ❤️

Awe, thank you. I'm proud of you too. I know that doing so was absolutely what I needed for my mental health. I hope it is supportive for your mental health too and I hope that more and more you are thriving in your life.
