Was our relationship really that great?

Author

sometimes i gotta look back on our relationship and remember all the hard times, all the times my needs weren't being met, and when it "got better" it was likely her people-pleasing me. i don't think she fully healed from her avoidant tendencies tbh, like she claimed she did

that temporary good moments didn't erase the times my needs kept getting pushed aside. i deserved consistency, not little bursts of hope.

write those things done so you can reflect on them and remind yourself of those things. that’s what I do!

after my breakup i caught myself romanticizing the relationship until i forced myself to remember the nights i felt alone while sitting right next to them. it hurt, but it stopped me from chasing something that wasn't actually making me happy.

do you think you're missing who she really was, or the version of the relationship you kept hoping it would become? that question changed a lot for me.

yes, agreed about remembering all the hard times and needs not being met
