Why i couldn't make it work with a misandrist

As I’m reflecting on my last relationship, I’d like to get a vibe check from the outside.

Guys, how many of you would seriously date a woman who unironically self-identifies as a misandrist, meaning she hates men but believes there are men who exist as exceptions to the rule just like anything in life and she can make a LTR work for a man she holds to high standards.

Ladies, how many of you unironically self-identify as a misandrist because of societal injustices, personal experience, or some other reason?

My ex unironically self-identified as a misandrist, but the prevalence of those feelings manifested differently throughout our almost three years together.

i'd take it seriously if someone tells me who they are. i kept hoping the label didn't really mean much, but i was happier once i stopped trying to argue with what they believed.

oof, i dated someone who always talked about my whole gender like we were the problem. after a while i stopped feeling like a partner and started feeling like i had to prove i was one of the "good ones." that wore me down.

I took a somewhat understanding approach because of her past trauma, but it became very irrational. She was unfairly extrapolating harm other men caused on to me (suspicions that I was watching porn, that I was going to abandon her on a hike, that I was going to literally kill her, etc.). I think part of the problem is that this girl lived on the internet.

did she treat YOU with respect most of the time, or did those comments start showing up in the way she handled disagreements too?

she selected me as an exception to the rule but demanded that I give her the password to my phone and share my location. She was paranoid that I was looking at porn for the first several months because previous bfs and her dad had watched porn, but eventually she realized I wasn’t watching porn and stopped. The last several months of the relationship she suddenly decided I was no longer an exception to the rule and it became a nightmare.

@SweetGlee920 So to answer your question, I’d say no. She would talk shit about me to her friends, her mom, and even her dad for half of the relationship.
