How heartbreak sparked my journey to self-love

It's been 6 days of no contact, which has given me a lot of time for self-reflection. I still love him with all my heart but I now understand that I need to take the time I have alone to work on myself. I've always hated myself so much and struggled with social anxiety and self-isolation. I've never felt motivated to change myself until now. How am I supposed to be loved again if I can't even love myself? I don't know if we will find our way back to each other or not, but if so, I want to be a better person for him. Maybe if I can learn to love myself and become more confident, I can help him finally love himself too. Now I understand what people mean when they say that they need to focus on themselves. I don't think I would've ever been motivated to make this change unless he broke my heart. I still love him with all my heart and he left a gaping hole in my chest when he walked away, but maybe I can become a better person because of it. Even if he never comes back into my life, I'll be happier if I can manage to change years of bad habits.

being around a week into no contact and suddenly wanting to change EVERYTHING about myself. heartbreak finally gave me the push i'd been missing. just be careful you don't make every change only for him

if you knew for sure he was never coming back, would you still want to become this version of yourself?

Hey there, I also ended my relationship because I have social anxiety and I'm overly stressed even about the smallest things. I also need to work on myself that's what is motivating me and forget about relationships. I hope you find healing, you're not alone.
