we started dating a little over two years ago after meeting in college. she approached me first and we clicked almost instantly. early on she told me she had bipolar disorder so i knew there would be challenges but i cared about her and wanted to be there.
our first months together were amazing. we spent almost every day together and built a really strong connection. as time went on though jealousy insecurity and poor communication started causing more and more arguments. we'd fight make up and promise to do better but the same patterns kept coming back.
Toward the end of last year while i was away on a business trip she cheated on me. She told me it wasn't because she stopped loving me but because of her instability. It broke me but i forgave her because i truly loved her. We started couples therapy and tried to rebuild things. Later i found out it had happened more than once which completely shattered my trust but i still wanted to fight for the relationship because my feelings for her never went away.
Even after therapy things stayed difficult. There was heavy drinking constant arguments and my family couldn't accept her back after everything that had happened. Still i believed we could work through it.
Last week i had to travel again for work and my old fears came back. We argued before i left but we made up. She promised we'd continue couples therapy when i got home. We talked every day while i was away texted constantly and i even bought her gifts during my trip.
When i got back we planned to meet on July 1. That morning she asked me to meet her at a park. Instead of picking up where we left off she told me she felt the relationship had become toxic and wasn't going anywhere. She said ending it was the best decision. She didn't give me many answers asked for complete no contact and blocked me everywhere as soon as we parted.
I was completely blindsided.
I wrote her a goodbye letter and gave it to her sister but i never heard anything back. During our final couples therapy appointment where we met with the therapist separately i was told the sudden breakup could have happened during a manic episode but i was also told to respect her decision regardless.
Desperate i called her one last time from a public phone just to say everything i hadn't been able to say in person. I told her i loved her that i had been working on myself through therapy and that i knew i had made mistakes too. She thanked me repeated that her decision was final and asked me one more time to respect her wish for no contact. That was the last conversation we had.
Now i feel completely lost. I've realized i became emotionally dependent on her. I had built my future around us and a part of me still believes she's the love of my life. At the same time i know i need to work on myself before i can have a healthy relationship with anyone.
What i'm struggling with most is how suddenly everything ended. We were making plans talking every day and preparing to continue therapy. Then without any warning it was over. I keep thinking about everything we never got to do everything i still wanted to fight for and i don't know how to let go of a future that disappeared overnight.

It’s so so hard, but on a random day months from now, you’re going to wake up in the morning and feel lighter. You’ll realize you didn’t dream of them last night or you stopped thinking about them for a whole day.
I have been through heartbreak many times. The most recent time it happened it was so intense I didn’t want to be alive anymore. Not understanding why, not being given the opportunity to process your emotions, having the rug pulled from underneath you. It all feels like such a betrayal.
Its hard when you think it happened overnight. The thing about NC is that the longer you go through it, the clearer it becomes that things were not actually working and we kept holding on hoping it would change.
You want closure so you can move on The problem is most of these Woman or Man Can't.. i have had real simular expierences. The highs in the relationship are so good And the low poins are also extreme.
