It's been about 2 weeks since the breakup and I'm feeling pretty ok. But I think the only reason I feel that way is because I have too much hope that we will get back together and make things work. I'm a high schooler so I haven't seen him much over the summer anyways, so he isn't really a part of my daily routine. I think I feel fine mostly because I think we will get back together once school starts again.
I need advice. How do I let go of this feeling in case it doesn't work out without causing too much pain? How can I move on from him while still keeping an open mind to reestablishing our relationship?

i wasn't okay because i'd healed, i was okay because i was sure we'd find our way back. when that hope finally faded, THAT was the part that really hurt. 💛
i get why you're holding onto that hope. if i were you, i'd try to live like the relationship is over for now. if he comes back later, you'll be in a stronger place. if he doesn't, you won't have to start healing from day one.
when you picture school starting, are you excited to see HIM, or are you hoping he'll be the one to undo all this pain?
are you checking social media ? what are you doing now to actively get over him? our minds are really good at tricking us into thinking someone cares about us when their actions are showing different we start fantasizing about being with them when reality is they aren't giving us a second thought, what I try to focus on is their actions if a man wants to be with you he will be. that doesnt mean anything is wrong with you some men just like to keep a woman on the backburner until they find someone they want
