i works as a server on a yacht. during a private event i noticed a guy across the room looking at me. we kept catching each other's eyes all night smiling every time. there was definitely a spark.
at one point one of his friends came over and jokingly asked if i'd seen his tall handsome blue-eyed friend. it felt pretty obvious he was trying to help him out which made me think the interest was mutual.
by the end of the night i finally worked up the courage to write my Instagram handle on a note with "i think you're cute :)" so i could give it to him. when i walked over to say goodbye to the group we made eye contact again and smiled. before i could hand him the note he asked me for my Instagram himself and pulled out his phone. i laughed told him i was already about to give it to him and handed him the note. he smiled took it and said he'd message me.
it's been 24 hours now and i haven't heard anything. no follow no message nothing. i'm surprised by how disappointed i feel because i don't even know his name but the chemistry felt so real.
now i'm stuck wondering what happened. did he lose the note? did he change his mind after the party? or was i reading the whole situation wrong? since i never got his name i don't even know how i'd find him.
i'd love to hear what other people think. does it sound like he simply lost the note or is it more likely he decided not to reach out?

I think it would be so embarrassing if he mistakenly lost the note or had just forgotten to add you. Especially since it was quite recent.. perhaps he’s checked your page maybe you might recognise his face I can’t remember what the app is called or how much you need to pay but that might be an option.
ooh this is a tough one i mean I definitely dont think it was one sided since he asked for your Instagram but no contact or even a follow is strange. are you hoping the reaches out because you think you're ready to move on or are you hoping obsessing over him will help you move on?
Honestly if it happens it happens, nothing you can do about it now. we live in a place a lot of people vacation too. Good luck I hope he adds you

Don’t chase the guy. You did your thing. Let him breathe a bit and for all you know he messages you. You’re young. Plus I’m sure you have many options. Also working on a yacht. He might think you do it often so yeah. Chill and just keep living
