Why can't i stop having imaginary conversations after my breakup?

Author

after all this break up end of may no contact on my end again on day 8.

and I still having conversations in my head with them.

haven’t slept in 2 days. I don’t know what to do anymore.

why can’t my brain let go. they way I got treated and even 8 days ago is abuse.

why do I keep talking to them in my head and why did I even expect something on my birthday.

I can’t seem to be able to help myself feel better. I don’t know what to do anymore.

I learned my lesson I won’t reach out to them ever again.

I can’t cope with the injustice. I expected so little and got even less.

I won’t drink or take medication. I just want to feel okay I don’t even want to be happy I can cope with that. I just want to be okay.

i'm stuck on the birthday part. did they usually make your birthdays feel important before, or were you hoping this time would finally be different?

they always made a big deal out of my birthday. they did something. this year after the break up I’m the bad guy and not even a happy birthday.

honestly, when i was where you are i stopped asking myself why i still missed her and focused on just getting through the next hour. two days without sleep is brutal, and i really hope you're talking to someone you trust about this because you shouldn't have to carry all of it alone.

I’m doing it also I can’t ask myself why it makes no sense. maybe my brain still can’t cope with the fact that they are this cruel and can just go on ignoring I even exist.

i went through an abusive relationship too and i remember lying awake having whole conversations with him in my head because my brain was still trying to get the apology and fairness i never got. i was exhausted and still couldn't stop.

yes exactly and I know they treated me so badly and my mind is how could they do that?

ugh I’m sorry everything is feeling so heavy. I think most people have conversations in their head after something difficult, as a way to imagine a different outcome or to try to get answers you never received. I promise you will get through this, even if it doesn’t seem like it right now.

it’s just taking so long and I can’t see any progress. I feel so broken. I know it has to get better.
