Does it ever get better after a breakup?

Author

am over a month with no contact. I was feeling somewhat okay last week but the last couple of days have been hard. I hadn’t cried for over a week and now 3 days I cry not constantly but overwhelmed again with all that sadness.

when is it ever getting better.

I figured my ex is indeed a horrible person not for leaving me but everything they did during.

I’m just so sad again. I’m tired.

i got through those days by stopping myself from treating every bad day like proof i was failing. i still had sad days, i just stopped expecting myself to be healed every morning.

you think the sadness is mostly missing them, or is it everything they did to you finally hitting you harder now?

I don’t think I miss them it’s just the injustice of it all.

hitting that weird second wave after a breakup, thinking i was finally okay and then crying again for days. it made me feel like i'd gone backwards, even though i hadn't.

guess it is just part of the process then?

I just got passed 300 days which is as long as our relationship was this past week has been harder because it's been year since she attempted to move into my house out of her abusive parents and I endured a lot of abuse from them
I wish her well I hope she can heal and I also hope she realizes the harm she did to me but yes it gets easier especially once you feel able to tell people so it doesn't feel like you're keeping it a secret

I get what you mean I struggled a lot with shame that I was accepting all this from them. my ex doesn’t care one bit for me. just a bad person.

Yes it does. Your healing isn't linear. It sounds like your body's ready to cry. When your body's ready it's ready. We all grieve differently. It's not for you to judge yourself harshly but a opportunity for you to listen to your body and honor it. Have a good cry and be gentle to yourself. When your ready start focusing on you. Date yourself. Love yourself. That's what I'm doing :)

I get what you mean but the damage was so much. it will take a while until I even like myself again.
