Before me and my ex-gf broke up i would ask my mum if i could go to the college she was at not just because of her bc ofc i wanted to do a course there but also went there so we could have more time together as we only saw eachother monthly but sometimes twice a month... everytime I'd mention it before signing up to the college my mum would go "what if you two arent dating by the time you join" I'd say "that wont happen but even if we did we'd still be friends and hang out" she then said "but what if you're not" and then 3 weeks before college ended (at my other college) we break up, but by the time that happened I already signed up to the college idk if mother's just know everything or if it was just complete guessing I dont really know i am happy at my college ive met quite a few people and friends with most of my classmates in my course so at least I feel happy at the college but yeah it just in a way feels upsetting how my mum technically predicted it months before we actually broke up

i’d probably be stuck on that too honestly, do you think it hurts more because your mum was right, or because you had already pictured so much of your college life with your ex?
because I had already pictured college life with my ex
i think what helped me was reminding myself that the college still became YOUR thing. you’ve met people, made friends, and found your place there, even though the relationship you imagined having there ended. that part can still be really good for you.
, i’ve had something similar happen where a parent said something before my breakup that i completely brushed off, then months later i was sitting there like “damn, how did you KNOW?” 😭 it makes the whole breakup feel a little stranger when their words suddenly come back to you.
bro moms knows everything fr. i can get you. my mom also predicted that i am immature for a relationship and yeah i am here.
im sure you're not immature you just haven't found the right person yet
@sofxpalewaves well i was immature. i was growing up and learning how to embrace someone. we broke up 🙃
