Lately i’ve been missing my ex because she was my best friend not my romantic partner. I’ve moved on and met someone else but i can’t help but think about her time to time. Honestly her cousin and sister “prank called” me the other day and told me that she wanted me back. I was angry because I didn’t like the fact that they were playing on my phone neither for the fact that if she truly did then she wouldn’t have gotten with somebody else and told me she hated me. I texted her to let her know what happened and that I wanted her to respect my boundaries but she never replied. I miss my best friend terribly to the point i’m sad about it. We were friends since we were kids and her leaving my life forever is a hard reality but I know that we can never turn back

i feel the part about being friends since you were kids so much, do you think you’re grieving her specifically, or the life and history you two had before everything changed?
missing an ex because i missed the friendship more than the relationship. mine felt like losing a whole part of my history, and seeing them become a stranger hurt in a way i wasn’t ready for.
