Can you really forgive a cheater?

i’ve been betrayed too, and the part that took the longest was accepting that their apology couldn’t do all the healing for me.

if you forgave them, did they genuinely rebuild your trust with their actions, or did you find yourself doing most of the work to make the relationship feel safe again?

i forgave cheating once, and honestly i thought forgiveness meant i had to trust them exactly like before. it took me a long time to realize i could forgive someone and still admit the betrayal changed what i was willing to accept.

I forgave after being cheated on twice
it hurt yes but the love was still there despite that

I have and honestly, it doesn’t get better

If someone cheats, I will forgive them but it also means they will never be apart of my life again

Thank you.. I’m really close to start that relationship again, but maybe it’s a bad idea
