Why did he block me after telling me he needed space?

Author

my ex told me he needed space, and I did that. I deleted his number and tried to move one but caved and tried to call the other night. I’m blocked. this was a huge loss for me because I thought i was “winning” I thought oh wow look at me I’m miss moved on and I win I deleted everything and when we texts I’ll get to let him down back. but now realizing not only did he lie and tell me a week but I’m not winning anymore. he blocked me, he wants nothing to do with me, he wins. and he sent my roomate a really mean paragraph yesterday trying to sway her opinion of me which really destroyed me. he told her he was gonna visit me this weekend not even a week ago and then sends this massive paragraph blaming everything on me and taking 0 responsibly (mind you were are no contact and haven’t spoken) how do you go from I need a week, yes I’m still coming, to sending a hateful and mean message like that. it just feels so permanent and real and I feel so alone. and I don’t know how I’m gonna make it through the weekend without him and without constantly thinking about him. will he call? will he show? etc.

thinking i was doing SO well after deleting my ex's number, then one weak moment had me reaching for my phone again. being blocked felt like getting dumped all over again, and seeing him paint me as the bad guy to other people hurt in a whole different way

making plans for the hours i knew i'd spend waiting for my ex to call or show up. i hated it at first, but i couldn't keep giving him my entire weekend when i didn't even know if he'd come

girl, that switch from “i need a week” to sending your roommate a hateful paragraph would mess with my head too. are you still holding onto the hope that he'll show up this weekend, or is it more that you're struggling to accept how cruel he's being now?
