How my mom became my rock after heartbreak

Author

If you're wondering how my breakup recovery is going, just look at this picture. I’m Sadness, and my mom is definitely Joy.

She refuses to let me stay down for too long. Whether she’s talking me through the confusion or giving me the "tough love" talk I need to keep the No Contact rule, she’s been my rock. It isn’t always easy to be pulled along when you’re feeling low, but I am so lucky to have her hand to hold.

Blessed is an understatement! 🙌✨

We all need a little extra support right now. Who is the person (or even the furry friend!) that has been your absolute rock lately? Let’s take a second to shout out the people keeping us going! 👇

i love this 🥺 do you feel like her pushing you sometimes clashes with what you want in the moment, or does a part of you know she’s right even when it’s hard?

Sometimes what she says clashes with what I want in the moment like when I want to call my ex because I miss him. I know she's right, even when I don't want to admit it. so I don't call him because sometimes when you're not thinking clearly, you have to trust someone else to think clearly for you.

having someone like that is everything… when i couldn’t trust my own decisions after my breakup, i just let my best friend be my voice for a while.

sometimes when we aren't thinking clearly, we have to trust someone else who think clearly for us. I think that's awesome that you have a best friend that you can trust to be your voice for a while. thank you for sharing your inspiring message.

this made me smile and sting at the same time… i remember being the “sadness” too while my sister dragged me out of bed and basically carried me through no contact. i didn’t want it then, but damn i needed it

thank you for sharing your inspiring story that your sister was there for you when you needed her the most. no contact is extremely difficult to get through and we all need someone to lean on during that time.

my house mate, my dog, normally my childhood best friend but she is on retreat. I know my girl who i will call C has my back.

I love that your mom is showing up for you so hard. Good job accepting help!
