I am 48 years old, married since 1998, I keep saying 26 years but it's 28 years,, been separated for 6 of those years. Just the very thought of starting over with someone new is freaking exhausting, feels like way to much work and not worth risking another failed relationship . I can't escape it, him, he's everywhere I look, over half my life has been spent with him and it's so hard to imagine being with anyone else

when someone is woven into half your life, your brain still looks for them everywhere 💔
i stopped forcing myself to imagine a whole new relationship. that thought made me panic too. i just focused on getting through one lonely evening at a time, one sunday morning at a time. eventually it stopped feeling so impossible.
I’m laying in bed missing my husband of 16 years. 17 together. He’s cheating, avoidant, probably narcissistic ass and I have to keep reminding myself I miss his presence, not his person. But yeah…I’m 49 and starting over sounds exhausting.
28 years is such a huge piece of your life. do you think part of what’s exhausting is the idea of having to explain yourself all over again to someone new after being known for so long?
Yes I think that is basically it, my husband knows me more then anyone, getting to know somebody all over again at 48, like is it even worth it
