Why it’s time to stop feeding my thoughts of him

I realized the other day that I'm 70 days in and still think of my ex and the community I left behind every single day. Realizing this i had the thought. "I'm giving them so much energy they don't deserve". I know I can't control whether or not they pop into my head, but i can control if I feed that thought so I'm committing to gently redirecting my energy back to myself. Not by suppressing it just by acknowledging it and checking in about if that's where I want to be putting my energy

hitting around the two month mark and getting frustrated because they were STILL in my head every day. what changed for me wasn't making the thoughts disappear, it was stopping myself from building a whole story every time they showed up.

exactly, there are a lot more interesting things in my life I would rather be feeding

i started asking myself, "what do i need right now?" instead of following every thought about my ex. it felt awkward at first, but little by little i got more of myself back. ❤️

love the self awareness to ask yourself the tough questions

is it your ex you miss most, or does losing the community around the relationship hurt just as much?

very much both and it's a sense of betrayal. I never thought my ex would make me feel like i didn't belong in the community I introduced her to and I didn't think that community would leave me behind
