things got so complicated between us since weeks ago and idk what to feel anymore. he keeps blaming himself for the mistake that we both did. because of that i feel like he’s become emotionally distant. we decided to stay as friends cuz we can’t get together. just the other day he’d say stuff like i deserve a committed relationship, i’m a lot more worth what we’ve shared. does any of it mean nothing to him at all? if he never liked me he could’ve straight up told me instead of getting involved with me more. how do they switch up so fast like it’s nothing

it sounds like he’s trying to say he knows you deserve more, and he feels guilty that he can’t give you the relationship you want. that doesn’t automatically mean he never cared about you.
