After a mutual non-messy breakup six months into a beautiful relationship we broke two months of no contact and met up. The connection was instant—he confessed he still loves and misses me daily and we ended up hooking up. However the next morning brought immense confusion.
We left things at we'll see each other again but I know getting back together isn't realistic due to long-term incompatibilities. I don't think he's willing to try again and continuing this ambiguous cycle will only mess with my head. How do you walk away from someone when there is zero lack of love but a fundamental lack of compatibility?

Personally even incompatibilities can work. As long as both sides really truly love and accept each other and are willing to compromise and respect.. it is possible. Anything is fixable if BOTH sides want to fix and set goals and methods together. Although if the other person just doesn't want or do effort, that's where it just won't work out.
So you broke no contact, were you the dumper or dumpee?
I just don’t get when people say they love but things don’t work out therefore they have to breakup … imo the love just isn’t strong enough, if it is it would be too painful to let go. If letting go is possible then it’s not painful enough for one person or both 🤷♀️ like is one of you living on the moon, or one is violent or something??? What isn’t fixable ?
I think you know the answer.
I let go even if I wasn’t ready. I sent a million “last” texts until I had nothing left in me.

Staying positive and hopeful about the possibility of someone more compatible is the most difficult yet necessary part...
