when you say you tried your best, what part of it do you wish they understood the most? like, the thing you did that you feel went unseen?

that sentence says everything sometimes “trying your best” still isn’t enough for the other person, and that’s not your fault. what helped me was reminding myself that effort isn’t wasted just because the ending hurts.

i remember saying almost the same thing when i knew my relationship was slipping away. i kept replaying all the times i did try, hoping it would count for something. it sucks when effort doesn’t save it
