He told me during the breakup that we would stay on good terms, but he no longer comes to our group outings, and last time, at a birthday party, he didn't even mention the evening. I went to see him to check on him, but he left quickly. And now this weekend I'm not around, and coincidentally, he's available. I don't think we'll get along. Is it going to be awkward every time we go out? I wanted to cherish our years together with a clear and unambiguous friendship.

To be in his life. To make honor on the years we had
do you feel like you actually want that friendship right now, or more like you don’t want to lose what you had with him?
honestly for me, trying to force a clean friendship right after the breakup just made everything more awkward
We need to get along well to avoid having a bad time with our friends. If he doesn't make an effort and I'm avoided every night, it's going to make the atmosphere way too difficult for me to stay in the group.
i tried to stay “on good terms” with my ex too and it slowly turned into this weird distance where we’d avoid each other at the same places. it made me realize we weren’t actually okay, we were just saying the words
maybe later...
