I hate that I needed to reset my no contact timer because he reached out. He went drinking with a friend, and sent his location as he was going home (I assumed alone and in a car as it was 1 in the morning). he explained that he was drunk and not okay. I had to break no contact to ask if he was going to hurt himself and as soon as he said he wasn't. I tried ending the conversation there, but curiosity got the better of me and asked if he wanted to talk what's on his mind but I think he fell asleep and I look stupid being left on read trying to ask him.

i know that awful feeling of staring at a message that never got a reply.
was this the first time he's reached out during no contact, or has he done things like this before when he's been drinking?
this is the first time since we broke up, during our time, when he's out drinking he calls me and tells me on what drink he is on if its his 2nd or 4th. and sending the location for when he is going to his house.
i reset my no contact once because i thought it was an emergency too, and i would've done the same thing. caring about someone doesn't just disappear because the relationship did

as much as it sux I think we all wouldve done the same in your shoes you are human and we are kind caring creatures im sorry if your mind is making you feel as if you failed but the fact that you wanted to end the conversation after you knew he was ok is such a big step 🫂

You don’t look stupid, to me this is a reflection of you being caring about someone (who probably means a lot to you) telling you they’re not okay. Don’t feel bad for being a kind person, him leaving you on read is not a reflection on you.
thank you! I worry about him cuz I was courting him for almost a year. I always worry especially he's quite unstable.
I dont think you did the wrong thing. I dont even think you need to reset no contact. He reached out and said he wasn't OK, and you checked on him.
