But I always thought it would be the real deal between us. Yes with ups and downs. We got a dog together, had plans, everything. and now its all gone. How can it be all gone???

Why is moving on so hard after losing everything?

i was grieving the life i'd imagined, not just the breakup.
i really thought my forever was already picked too, then one day i was staring at all the plans we'd made wondering where they were supposed to go. losing the future hurts just as much as losing the person.
that question of "how can it all be gone?" haunted me too. can i ask, did the breakup happen suddenly or had things been falling apart for a while before it ended?
I had to keep thinking of all the bad times just to justify the break up I know as humans we try to see the good in everyone but it also keeps us holding onto hope that they will come back and that is just torture
same.. I'm also mourning the future plans
I know I know exactly how you feel. we have to stop looking for closure we have to mourn the future we imagined. I don’t know when it gets better but yes cliche one day at a time.
