We were together for seven months navigating time zones and my night shift schedule. I felt so happy and safe with him especially since he supported me through my dad's death this year. He made me want a future and a family with him which was a huge deal for me as an eldest daughter.
Then my gut led me to check his Instagram where I found a girl he’d met on a dating app during a past argument. He admitted to exchanging handles and talking to her which explained why he had suddenly overhauled his profile with gym flex pics. Hearing the truth immediately flipped a switch in me. The future I envisioned with him completely vanished and even though it hurts and feels embarrassing that he behaved so shadefully I'm at peace knowing I'll never settle for a partner who betrays my trust.

Oof that gut feeling thing is so real, when you just know something's off before you even know what it is. The gym pic detail is what gets me, like you literally noticed the shift in his behaviour and your brain tried to wave it away because trust is supposed to be there.
I was also in the same boat as you and the hardest thing to accept was that the man I thought he was was never actually real to begin with. But everything felt so real when I was with him… It’s a very traumatic thing to go through but I think that chapter was needed in my life so it can unleash better things to come. Keep strong, it gets better!!
