I've just started no contact with my ex-situationship today and even tho he was the one who broke up with me (because he didn't want to do long distance relationship), he still wanted to be friends. I told him that I need space to clear my head and move on.
I'm just wondering...have I ever mattered to him at all? Does he feel my absence during no contact? Does he miss me at all?
I mean it doesn't matter at all if he misses me or not, I know I should just focus on myself and my healing, but it's difficult.

i'm glad you chose no contact. i kept breaking it because i wanted reassurance, and it only made me hurt longer.
i kept wondering if he missed me too, even after he was the one who ended it. those questions stayed in my head for weeks, but they slowly got quieter once i stopped checking for answers.
when he asked to stay friends, did it feel like he wanted to keep you in his life, or did it feel more like he wanted to ease his own guilt?
I’m in this exact situation, and it’s so hard wondering if I mattered to him or if he misses me. at the end of the day, I am accepting that he didn’t want me in his life (even though he said he wanted to be friends which I don’t believe he meant), and if he missed me he knows where to find me. And the fact that I haven’t heard anything shows me where he stands. I have been going to therapy and trying to focus on putting myself and my feelings first , and it does slowly get easier. thinking of you love, it will be okay xx
Thank you for sharing your situation. I'm really happy to hear that you've bedn focusing on yourself! That's the best thing that we can do in this situation!
I try to see the positive side of him not reaching out to me...I mean it defo helps my healing. And it also means that he rsspects my boundary.
I wish you the best, stay strong🫶
@BraveAndSunny855 thank you for sharing yours! putting yourself first is always so much easier said than done, especially when you’ve spent a lot of time putting someone else first. but I know it will be worth it in the end.
I hadn’t thought about it that way, that him not reaching out is also him respecting the boundary.thank you for the new perspective.
I wish you the best too! we’ve got this 🫶🏼
I know it's easier said than done but try not to second guess what he's thinking. I have been there where you project your own feelings about them onto them and wonder if they feel the same but actions speak louder than words. The friends thing is bullshit btw, I've been caught on that one, it just means keeping access to you with no effort or commitment. Be careful xx
