not so common idea

Author

I'm spiraling into sad breakup songs, sad movies etc... Would it be a crazy idea to just skip all those things and try to connect with happy subjects and materials.(I know it sounds strange and I will not always feel nice with these happy things) But could it not be possible that because of surrounding me with sadness that I am right now way sadder... any thoughts on this ( today is the first day I will try the new method because WHY TF NOT???)

when you go for the sad content, is it because it feels safe or because it’s the only thing that matches your head right now?

what usually works for me is mixing it. like sure, i still have days where i need the sad stuff, but sprinkling in stupid memes or light shows kinda stops the spiral. you don’t have to feel happy for it to help a little.

i was heartbroken i drowned myself in sad playlists and breakup reels. it felt comforting at first but damn it kept me stuck in that heavy mood. the day i forced myself to watch some dumb comedy instead i felt… not healed, but like i could breathe for a second. so i get why you’re trying this

I have avoided the sad songs and romantic movies. In YouTube I found songs with positive messages about self worth, gratitude, empowerment etc. and they hay helped me to not feel stuck in a dark place.

This a great idea !! Bro on the first day , i did the usual . cried to sad breakup songs for hours . but i’ve noticed that by watching things and doing things that make me happy it helps . It’s okay to mourn your relationship for the start of the heartbreak . but do things that make you happy!!!
