It has been four months since the breakup and a little over a 100 days of no-contact and I'm feeling better each day! I'm going out on and dating again this week and I feel ready to move on. (This is a sign that you can too!)
Though one thing that I find hard to move on from was when my ex said that I wouldn't find anyone better than him and told me good luck on the dating scene, the day he dumped me, like somehow he was trying to convince himself that he was better off without me. I still feel angry and sad when I think back to that conversation. Am I wrong for still holding on to that? How can I let go of that?

85 and still counting
i’m really glad you’re getting back out there, that’s huge. but when you think about that moment, is the anger more about what he said, or about how it made you doubt yourself for a while?
you know when someone says “you won’t find better than me,” it always sounded like ego talking
my ex said almost the exact same thing when he left, like i’d regret losing him. 8 months later i’m with someone kinder and that sentence just sounds small now. you’re not wrong for still feeling that sting.
this made me feel so much better about my situation, i’m so happy for you!!:)
That's great news. I'm so happy for you.
this is more of a reflection of him tbh. it got nothing to do with you. it just shows how self centered he was
