It has been three months since my ex and I officially ended our three-year on-and-off relationship. Given that our longest break before this was only two weeks this is a major milestone for me. Even though I recently rejected her attempts to reconcile I still catch myself flirting with her occasionally which leads to regret. I am now seriously considering going full no-contact to protect my peace.
Our relationship was deeply unhealthy and one-sided marked by several major issues:
Emotional Neglect & Manipulation: She frequently stonewalled me became angry when I brought up my feelings and hung up on me while I was having a severe panic attack.
Physical Harm: She pushed me off the bed causing a spine scar and ongoing back pain that affects my sleep.
Disrespect & Insecurity: She repeatedly broke up with me including while I was recovering from appendix surgery in the hospital—because she was irrationally jealous of a male friend visiting me despite knowing I am a lesbian.
Lack of Effort & Hygiene: I carried the entire weight of the relationship by always hostings sleepovers and planning dates while she put in zero effort and even struggled with basic hygiene.
She has tried to re-enter my life three times this month while refusing to acknowledge the damage she caused. I keep rejecting her but I need to cut contact entirely so I can finally heal.
