I don’t think we should put limits on our love and on what we give to others. I believe we should simply be in a balanced relationship and give the same energy we receive. If the other person is distant or unavailable without reason or excuse, then we should do the same. I know it’s much easier said than done, but it could help to suffer less in relationships and to avoid losing ourselves in them.
Don’t promise that. If a person didn’t value what they had, it’s their problem. Never be ashamed of how much love you can give to someone. You know is beautiful to have someone who loves you and do everything they can to make you happy.
The bad thing here is you were unlucky into finding someone that didn’t value that.

telling myself i wouldn’t give more of me, then slipping again. it didn’t mean i was weak, it just meant i cared too much.
i used to spit out i hate him a hundred times a day and still dream about him at night. felt like i couldn’t even trust myself with my own words.
