How do i deal with my first love breakup?

Author

I'm fresh out of a breakup. How do I deal with this? He was my first love, and it hurts me because I knew it was special.

you say you knew it was special, do you feel like you’re grieving him more, or the future you pictured with him?

as cliche as this sounds put the focus on yourself set goals everyday like one thing whether its something small like talking a walk or a shower if you break down I found that recording my feelings and looking back at it helped me. if you feel the urge to reach out come on here and explain why you want to reach out they will help you this is a great community to lean on no one will judge you for posting multiple times and we know what you're going through complete the list when you first open the app it helps you to understand your feelings

start taking care of you and really feel your feelings. cry when you need to anywhere. I’ve cried in an airplane seat, in the grocery store, my car, on a dance floor- i found there’s not as many tears about her anymore.

also go no contact and i can not stress that enough. don’t beg or reach out because it will feel unbearable at times. every time you talk to them, you reopen that wound. it usually feels worse after the temporary high is gone. you’re allowed to choose yourself. and in this case, choose your own mental sanity.

you did really good finding a community but reach out to people in your own physical life too. rebuild with people who will encourage you. sometimes being in a relationship can isolate you and I want to encourage you to find your own community. it helps a lot. also think about therapy if you can. it’s a lifesaver.

you’re not alone in this! we are all going through really hard things and sometimes it’s comforting knowing that so many of us are/ have been in your shoes. sending you so much love 💛
