I’m in a really dark place right now and missing my ex terribly. It is eating me alive knowing she feels completely detached from me and treats our three-year relationship like it never even mattered.
It makes me sick to my stomach to picture her flirting dating or touching another guy without a second thought about me. I keep tormenting myself by imagining her friends trashing me and her laughing along with them. I feel completely stuck failing at moving on and in way too much pain. If anyone has survived this level of heartbreak how do you get through it?

i understand you so much. my ex boyfriend told me he was completely over me and doesn’t care whatsoever. we’ve been no contact but text each other ever so often when we find out smth abt the other. all of the claims he’s made abt me were lies, but i found out he found another girl and has been calling me crazy to his girl friends.
did you reflect on the relationship? did you find your lacking and did feel like you already did everything you could? for me, even though i was the one who got betrayed, and stayed during everything.
I was really upset initially but realized I did not deserve what all he put me through. Do you think this is the situation with you?
Work on yourself for a while.
You have to release your grip of control. You’re only causing yourself more suffering by imagining possible futures of her being with other people. Her life is hers, and yours is your own. You will love again. Good things will happen.
I'm sorry, man. I know how horrible it feels right now and how none of it feels real. It's rough thinking about them doing things without us or potentially doing those things with someone new. It really can put us in a dark place.
One important thing I learned through my breakup after five years together is that worrying about hypothetical situations and the possibility of our exes being with someone else is self-destructive. We only know what we've actually been shown. They left, they seem disconnected, and they appear to be moving on. We need to keep the things we actually know closer to us than the what-ifs, because otherwise, we're effectively torturing ourselves by analyzing every possible scenario of what they're doing without us.
The reality is that the relationship is over, and we have to learn to live with that reality rather than keep ourselves trapped in everything that might be happening outside of it. That doesn't mean the relationship meant nothing or that we weren't worth loving. It just means we have to start giving ourselves the time and space to heal instead of continuing to give so much of ourselves to someone who isn't here anymore.
That's much easier said than done, and I'm still struggling with it myself. But by recognizing when we're spiraling, challenging those hypothetical thoughts, and bringing ourselves back to what we actually know, we can make significant progress in stopping the worrying.
We don't have to figure out how to move on all at once. We just have to take it day by day and be patient with ourselves.
I’m right there with you.
oooow i feel you. feel exactly the same but what we think or feel is not the same as what is the reality. you don’t know. if they are talking trash. and their opinion don’t make you trash. let them talk about you. don’t let it bother you so much.. don’t let them win!!!
