I am completely heartbroken and feel like my world is collapsing after a phone call with my partner today. We were having a serious conversation about our relationship when he admitted something devastating to me completely casually as if it was no big deal. Rationally I know life goes on but right now I feel like I'm dying inside and don't know how to handle this pain.

I really hope that you will find peace with this one day. I’m telling you even if a part of you still wants to try again with him and move forward from this situation. You will have some resentment towards him and just feel uncomfortable if he mentions somebody.
I'm sorry this happened to you. It's certainly one of the many things we always worry about when in or starting a long distance relationship with someone.
