Why do i keep hoping after every message?

I think it's normal and it takes time to truly let all hope go.

i wanted it to or not, but i stopped feeding it by checking my phone every few minutes. the hope got quieter with time.

after my breakup every notification made my stomach drop because i was convinced it might be him. months later i realized i was waiting for a person who wasn't actually reaching out

It will go away over time , don't worry

when your phone lights up, are you hoping it's actually them, or are you hoping for the feeling that they'd still choose you?
