I met up with this person on a dating app and we talked about a lot of things and kissed a lot. I never really felt that “getting over someone by getting under someone” but I felt like, with my boundaries in place ofc, that I got a new perspective on things. That what I thought was impossible came really easy to someone else and that I love my ex so incredibly much and that that love has been worth all the things I’ve gone through trying to get capacity from him that he couldn’t provide. I feel very calm and still this morning. Have a hard time placing myself.

i tried meeting new people too, and it was strange realizing someone else could give me things i begged for before. it brought up a lot of love and grief at the same time.
when you realized someone else could give you what you needed so easily, did it make you miss your ex more, or did it change how you see what happened between you two?
It made me appreciate the way my ex made me feel and it made me see that what didn’t work was something that was so difficult because we are very different people in different stages in our lives which a relationship couldn’t and shouldn’t change. So it made me miss him in a memory and appreciation type of way and helped me to see the dynamics of what happened with more clarity.
