Why did he leave? my painful long-distance breakup

Author

we were in a relationship for two years and he broke up because we were in long distance and i couldnt arrange a meeting anymore so he said his core need is physical intimacy and he cant go on with a relationship without that.. and i feel so disposable..

I started meeting this guy and he travelled all the way to my country to just only meet me for 4 days. Everything was so magic, and after he went back to his country, we decided to start dating as we felt really good with each other.

After 3 months of dating, we only had a discussion once. And when we fixed the problems we found along the way, everything seemed to be perfect.

But a bit more than 3 months of dating, he told me that the distance was something he could no longer bare anymore. I obviously respected his decision, but still wanted to speak to him so we could end our relationship on good terms.

However, that call never came even though he was opened to speak to me. It was last week that I told him that was the last time I was willing to speak to him, and he agreed. But lately, found out he was cheating on me.

3 days before breaking up with me, he started dating another girl. In his culture, it is really common to meet someone and right away start dating. And it was what happened here.

We could have a long talk and discuss about all of the problems we had during the relationship alongside the cheating.
It was a talk where everything went really calm, and it was not as traumatic as i thought it would be.

But now I found myself in a situation where I can no longer give my trust to anyone, and feeling empty as I felt I was someone to easy to leave... And that feeling hurts a lot and keeps breaking my heart every single day...

someone ending a relationship over a need doesn't erase the love i gave. i kept blaming myself for what distance took away, but i finally stopped carrying all of it alone.

was the distance something neither of you could realistically change, or did it start feeling like he had already checked out before the breakup?

we couldn't realistically change it and all the burden of meetings was on me even financially.. and now it wasnt possible coz of some real reasons that he wasnt ready to accept and said they are just excuses..

i went through a long distance breakup too, and hearing "i need physical intimacy" made me feel like everything else we built meant nothing. i remember feeling so replaceable, even though i know now i wasn't.
