I ended a serious three-year relationship because I felt emotionally exhausted and started worrying about our communication the impact of her family’s involvement and the unhealthy caretaker role I had taken on. At the same time we both stopped putting enough effort into the relationship while dealing with personal stress and outside pressures.
since the breakup she has started therapy and seems to be making real changes. Seeing that has made me wonder if we could rebuild what we had. She says she needs more time to heal before we meet again and I want to respect that.
I still love her but I’m scared we’ll fall back into the same patterns that hurt us before. How do I know if trying again would lead to a healthier relationship or if I should let her move forward without me?

i was paying more attention to whether the old dynamic had actually changed than how much i still loved them. love came back fast for me, the unhealthy patterns did too.
you see two people building something different, or do you catch yourself stepping back into that caretaker role without even meaning to?
I really needed this perspective. I think my ex felt the same way and half said it. if you both diced to grow and learn to not fall back to the same pattern you could try again. but try not to think I wanna have the old relationship we're these dynamics and pattern where the thing that broke you. see it like I miss her and she has shown potential in growing and learning and I love her still and wanna reconnect. but I wanna have a healthier relationship and how that would look like, reflect on that. what would you need in hard situation where you maby felt misunderstood, lonely and needed to take action/care. is she open to maby try again?
what i meaning dont try to reconcile like the old version off the relationship. treat it like a new but heslthier
i left someone i still loved because i was carrying the relationship on my back, then when they finally started changing i questioned EVERYTHING
