my girlfriend of almost 5 years and i broke up two days ago. we ended things on okay terms and we still love each other so much but somehow things just stopped working. i’m struggling so much with it. i didn’t just lose my girlfriend i lost my best friend and the person who shaped so much of who i am. i can barely get out of bed and everything feels empty without her. i feel lost defeated ashamed and like i’m not enough. right now she’s the only person i want and i honestly don’t know how to be myself without her.

i barely leaving my bed after my breakup and feeling like i’d never feel normal again.
you say she shaped so much of who you are, do you think you’re grieving her most right now, or the life you pictured having together?
the last part. 😞 “i honestly don’t know how to be myself without her“. this one hits so hard. I feel this so much.
losing my girlfriend after years together felt like losing my best friend, my routine, and a whole version of myself at once. those first few days were brutal.
you can do it!! you'll heal
The best thing you can do for yourself now is going no-contact indefinitely: it if makes you feel any better, mark each week, like, every Sunday, and every Sunday you'll decide if it's worth reaching out again or not
