that urge to reach out can feel almost physical. i used to type the message, stare at it forever, then delete it because i knew i'd be hurting myself twice
pre-wire your brain and create new challenges for yourself or physically move your body and each time you do this you eventually ease into not needing to reach out
Think about why you broke up and who you think should reach out first. If you had a daughter who was going through the same thing, think about what advice you would give her. If you believe the other person is the one who should reach out, then don’t text them. Be stubborn about it. But if you think you were in the wrong, then you can make an effort. Don’t be sad just because the relationship ended; bad times will pass. But if bad relationships don’t end, the bad times won’t end either. Know your worth. Look at the good things as experiences and please keep moving forward.

are you reaching out because the silence feels unbearable?
